I’m a member of the Plain English Power committee, a driving force in New Zealand for clear communication in business and government. I also Chair a panel of international judges for the national annual Plain English Awards.

I originally trained at the London School of Journalism in Editing (Hons), and have over 20 years of experience in writing processes, policy, guidelines, communications, and other business material.

I've worked in legal, medical, and IT fields, and in public and private sectors.

Writing website content is part of my daily bread. I know how and why people read differently online and can meet those needs.
I also run workshops in plain English that cover:
  • clear language

  • scannable structure
    (for information at a glance)

  • creating a branded voice in your documents.
